My Personal Training Experience
After participating in YMCA programs for over 25 years, I hit a bit of a roadblock. I was still enjoying meeting my friends and working out in group classes but I felt like there was no real focus to my efforts and I was getting bored. At about this time, the “Y” began offering the Bars and Plates class. It was a bit intimidating at first but I soon learned to choose my weights and set up my station. What was truly amazing was how quickly I could notice a difference in my strength and balance. I found that I really enjoyed the challenge of increasing my weights and/or Reps with each class.
With this introduction and the opportunity to get to know our Trainer, Mike Cooper, I decided to try Personal Weight Training. This was one of the best fitness decisions I have ever made! While I was a little uncertain about how comfortable I would be working one to one, Mike’s easy manner and professional approach soon calmed any concerns. Through our conversations, Mike has taught me a lot about muscle composition, training technics and eating for fitness. After six months, I have increased my strength especially upper body, got great definition in my triceps and legs and find myself looking forward to each work-out. Best of all, I find myself walking tall and feeling re-energized to continue my healthy lifestyle!
