When my family moved to Innisfil 5 years ago, I had 2 very little ones, and had not yet established a support system within the community. Days were long and lonely for me without any adult interaction (until my hubby came home from work). We decided to join the Innisfil Y to get my daughter into swimming lessons, and I was thrilled to see the amount of programs that my family could participate in with memberships.
Within a few months of joining the Y, I really felt that I was part of my new community, and completely at HOME! I had made friends, and my children started making friends. They learned how to swim, how to socialize! They got their daily exercise running around the gym. We took advantage of every program at the Y, visiting almost every day. Eventually, I joined as a member, and was amazed at the variety and quality of the group fitness classes offered. The Instructors were amazing, and the social aspect kept me hooked. I’m very proud to now volunteer at the Innisfil Y in the fitness department.
Now that my children are a bit older and in school, I have found a full-time job for the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. We have added YMCA Child Care to the long list of services we utilize through the Y, and I can literally say that Y has CHANGED MY LIFE!
My Y is everything.
