My family of 5 (myself, husband and our 3 beautiful children (triplets), joined the Barrie Y about four years ago. We access the Y kids programs, children swimming, Fitlynx program when working out, open gym and swim.

We have been receiving financial assistance since we joined.  This has allowed us to keep our membership and access all the Y programs for our family.  Programs for children are quite expensive so with the financial assistance we have been able to provide programs we otherwise would not be able to do.

Our children LOVE going to the Y.  They enjoy the Y kids 3 times per week.  They have created strong bonds with the volunteers and staff that run this program.

It makes me feel great that our local community is helping families in this community stay healthy and provide programming for children that otherwise would not have access to.

There is definitely a need for more community support for YMCA services and programs!  I was born and raised here in Barrie and worked at the YMCA during my teenage years in their summer programs.  The YMCA is such a community based agency, and all help is always beneficial!
