In 2000, starting out as a very overweight woman (250 lbs), I decided to join as a member to try to change my life for the better. I was very insecure, tried one salsa fitness class, huffing and puffing, and realized I really needed to be here!

As time went on the huffing and puffing slowly decreased and the weight started to come off…

To make a long story short, I started as a volunteer in child programs and fitness classes. The Y has helped me grow to become a stronger, more secure individual who loves health and fitness and living active.

I love to help others achieve their goals; in my line of work I see a lot of the same stories that I have come from, losing 105 lbs. I can relate to these people which makes me very empathetic to them.

I love doing what I do! It’s very rewarding, very life changing. That’s what drives me every day.
