My 2-week vacation was booked to be with my daughter in the Arctic for December 8th and the birth of her first baby.
At noon on November 12th I got the call that baby was on it’s way (no, we didn’t know if it was a boy or girl).
With the permission of team leader and manager to accelerate my vacation, I made it from Midland to Iqaluit in 24 hours.
In time for the birth of my daughter’s first baby and my first grandson ……
